F.A.Q.

We understand that many questions may arise when renting a car. Therefore, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and their answers. If you have any questions not addressed on this page, please feel free to contact our customer support team. We want to make your car rental experience as easy and stress-free as possible.

Car Reservation

You can search for cars on our website and make the actual reservation on our partner site localrent.com. A 15-20% deposit is required to book.

Just a valid credit card to pay the deposit for your chosen car. You’ll also enter contact details in the booking form.

Yes, it’s best to reserve a car well ahead of your rental dates if possible. There is a good chance your preferred car will be available if booking 2 weeks out.

While you can search availability, cars cannot be picked up without an advance reservation. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before rental start.

You can request a specific car, but model cannot be guaranteed. Your reservation locks in the car class, not the exact vehicle. But in most cases, you will receive the booked car if available

Once you receive the booking confirmation (voucher), you are guaranteed a car in the reserved class on your rental dates. But the specific model is not guaranteed (see previous FAQ).

Reply to your voucher email or message the rental company on WhatsApp/Viber (contact on the voucher) to request a time change. The agent will assist with rescheduling

Terms and Restrictions

Some rentals include unlimited miles, others have daily limits. Check the individual car listing for exact mileage terms.

The minimum rental period is 1 day.

Rental days begin at the time you pick up the car and end 24 hours later. For example, pickup at 2 PM on Monday means the rental day ends at 2 PM on Tuesday.

Yes, but you will be charged the 4 day rate.

Card payment depends on the individual car, as only some companies have mobile card readers. Use the “Card payment” filter to see which cars offer this.

You pay the remaining rental balance when picking up the car, after paying the deposit at booking.

Smoking is prohibited in rental cars.

Drivers must be 21+ and have held a driver’s license for 1+ year.

Deposit

See the “Card payment” filter to determine which cars allow card payment of the deposit.

Some cars can be rented with no deposit. Listings are marked “no deposit” if that option is available.

The deposit amount is shown on each car page, usually 25-150 EUR. Some have a zero deposit.

Expect 2 weeks for refund of card deposits after the car is returned in good condition. Cash deposits are returned immediately upon inspection.

Vehicle Pickup and Return

The rental company will contact you the day before via your provided number to arrange airport collection details. Agent contacts are also provided on your voucher.

Some companies based in your rental city provide free delivery. Those based elsewhere charge a delivery fee shown on the listing.

No, reservations must be made at least 24 hours before pickup. No instant rentals are available.

If the booking form allows late pickup times, then the company can deliver then. Otherwise choose another with suitable hours.

Check if the booking form allows selection of weekends/holidays. If yes, delivery is available those days.

With confirmed booking, pickup just takes about 15 minutes to review and sign paperwork, make any remaining payments, and you’re all set.

We work with various companies based in different cities. Those outside your rental city charge for delivery, while local companies are often free.

Insurance and Road Accidents

  • Full Coverage – No responsibility for all damages.
  • Super CDW – You pay deductible, insurance covers remainder.
  • CDW – You pay for glass/tire damage. Insurance covers other damages above deductible.
  • TPL – Included basic coverage. Responsible for all damages.

With TPL or CDW insurance, you are responsible for glass damage. With Super CDW or Full Coverage, insurance covers this (minus any deductible for Super CDW).

Tires are checked at pickup but any punctures/damage occurring during the rental are your responsibility with TPL/CDW insurance. With Super CDW, you pay deductible and insurance covers the rest. Full Coverage means no charge for tire issues.

Contact the rental company if this occurs, and do not continue driving as it can lead to costly damage. While our cars are maintained, this should not occur. If unable to safely drive the car, alternate transport will be arranged.

Take action to prevent further damage or injury. Contact the rental company immediately and follow our instructions. Your responsibility depends on chosen insurance:

  • With TPL you pay for all damages.
  • With CDW and Super CDW you pay the deductible and insurance covers remaining repairs.
  • With Full Coverage you have no liability – the insurance company pays for everything.
  • Note you must properly document the accident to avoid further charges.
  • With TPL or CDW, tire theft/damage is your responsibility.
  • With Super CDW you pay the deductible, insurance covers the rest.
  • With Full Coverage there is no charge.
